Guidelines to Apply for Barber Companies' Lot in Downtown Birmingham

Property Location and Description

211 North 21st Street; Birmingham, Alabama

Lot 11, Block 84

Lot size is approximately 40' x 100', +/- 4,000 s.f. - actual size to be determined

Proposal Submission

Interested parties must submit a written proposal to the Barber Companies to include but not limited to:

    1. Proposed Recipient of the Lot
    2. Business to be opened on the Lot
    3. Number of employees
    4. History of the Business
    5. Detailed description of ownership structure of the Business
    6. Detailed description of the Business and its activities
    7. Detailed description of improvements to be made to the Lot and source of financing, if any.
    8. Any other information that would convince Barber Companies to give you this Lot

* No telephone inquiries allowed.  Only proposals initiated in writing will be considered.

General Conditions

    1. Recipient of lot must must move a business into the CIty of Birmingham or start a new business in the City of Birmingham.  A new location for an existing Birmingham business does not qualify.
    2. Recipient of Lot must build a new building on the Lot and begin construction within 60 days of conveyance of the Lot.  Construction must be complete within 360 days of conveyance of the Lot. If these conditions are not met the Lot shall revert back to Barber Companies.
    3. Recipient of Lot may not sell or transfer the property for a period of five (5) years from the date of transfer.
    4. Barber Companies may impose any additional condition(s) on the conveyance or restrictive covenants on the Lot that it desires.
    5. Barber Companies may withdraw this invitation for offers at any time.
    6. Barber Companies may choose the Recipient of the Lot in its sole and absolute discretion.  Barber Companies may decide in its sole and absolute discretion not to give the Lot to anyone.
    7. The Lot, if conveyed, will be conveyed in "as-is" condition.
